2013 NYSC Batch A: things you need at the NYSC Orientation Camp

Congratulation to all 2013 NYSC Batch A incoming corpers, i wish you a successful Youth corp year.

REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS

When you get to the NYSC Orientation camp, the first thing that you will have to do is to register. This is very essential for you to be admitted into the camp. During the registration exercise, you are expected to provide the following: 

Your Final Year Student ID card 
The Notification of Result from your higher Institution
Passport Photographs 

NYSC Call Up letter 

It is advisable that you have with you at least 5 photocopies of every document you posses. Why? And things can be very expensive at the NYSC Orientation camp.  

Things you will need at the NYSC orientation camp include:

The number one thing you need is to find NCCF. You also need a white top and shorts; your jungle boot and white canvas these will be given to you at the camp; If you don’t like the one you will be given, I will advice that you buy one along before going to the orientation camp. 

Since you are going to spend no more than three Sundays, you may go with three extra cloths, but the main dress code in the orientation camp is your white shirt on your white boxers.

You will also need a WAIST POUCH to keep your valuables like cash, and phones. 

If you have a camera you can take it along because you will want to snap a lot of scenes. If you have a Blackberry phone, that’s good for you because you can easily and share on social networks. If you don’t have any of those, you will have to pay the photographers on camp to follow you around and snap you wherever you go if that is needed.

You also need food cooler, set of cutlery, toilet soap, slippers, Tooth brush, 2 set of white socks, a torchlight and extra cash.

Things you don't need to go with to the orientation camp:

You should not go with your Laptop (You don’t need it), pressing iron, knife, fork, tin cutter to the camp. They will be seized and returned to you only on the last day of camping. You don’t need to take a lot of cloth to the camp.
