According to WAEC zonal coordinator, Mr Alonzie, 324,998 people registered for 2012 WAEC.

• 310,007 candidates sat for the exam.

• 51,876 results withheld due to exam malpractice

• 250,487 candidates have 2 credits and above

• 217,161 candidates have 3 credits and above

• 180,480 WAEC candidates have 4 credits and above

• 141,167 candidates obtained 5 credits and above

• 99,750 candidates obtained 6 credits and above.

On University admission basis, she further disclosed:
133,507 candidates obtained credit in English
A total of  (43. 06%) obtained credit and above in English, while 151,569 candidates (48. 88%) obtained credit and above in Mathematics. About 62,295 candidates, representing (20. 04%) obtained credits in English language, Mathematics and at least three other subjects.
